Is it Spring yet????

Man this Utah weather is KILLING me! It is the stinkin' middle of April and it is freeeeezing cold here! Not only that but the darn weather keeps tricking us like it really is Spring and then laughs at us as it throws stupid snow in our faces... Yesterday it was 85 degrees! Don't ask about today....stupid 40 degrees...no, I'm not complaining at all....

Well, today I was walking through Costco and couldn't help but meander through the baby clothes. Oh my gosh, I found the cutest thing! What do you think?

I love how he just looks like such a stud in this picture! "yo waz up"

Can you say baby model?! Ok, I am SOOO not biased! ;)

Then here's the Lukey I know and love!

Isn't that swim outfit the cutest or what??? Now the only question is whether or not it will ever get warm enough for my little guy to wear this thing. Come on Spring!!!

Mary Kay Beauty Consultant

So I took the plunge and became a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant a little less than a month ago. I absolutely LOVE it so far! My sister in law has been one for about 8 years and I've always bought Mary Kay make-up from her and loved it. I'm so glad I finally decided to become one because now I can always have a job on the side of being a full-time mom and its something I actually believe in. I know that might sound superficial to some but seriously, helping women take care of their face and skin is awesome! I'm not getting any younger and so I am finally using the amazing Mary Kay Timewise face cleanser, moisturizer, and night solution. It has worked wonders on my skin! I swear I can already see the wrinkles around my eyes disappearing! ;) haha I know I might sound silly.... Anyways, I love what I do and if anyone is interested let me know! They also just came out with the new mineral make-up which feels so light and wonderful on my face! LOVE IT! I'll have a Mary Kay website soon! ;)

Lukas' Surgery

So Luke had surgery this last Wednesday morning. For those of you who don't know Lukas had a dermoid (skin) cyst on his right eyebrow that he needed to get removed. He was such a good boy when he woke up that morning even though he couldn't eat and continued to be in such a good mood even while the surgery nurse walked away with him. Apparently they put a mask on him to make him fall asleep and then tried to put an IV in him. They tried once in one hand, twice in the other hand, and 3 times in his ankle before they finally got the IV in (I only know because I can see the evidence). OW! Luckily he was asleep I guess! Then the doctor performed the surgery and said everything went great. He said the only thing that was a little weird was that the cyst had sort of attached to the eye bone, which I guess isn't normal, but he said it was ok anyways. The surgery took about an hour. Luckily, I had a quiz that was due during his surgery so I was able to focus on something else. ;) After the surgery Lukas went straight to the recovery room to wake up. I guess he was one of the few angry ones when he woke up so they brought him to me screaming as he deliriously threw his hands about. So sad. Luckily, it only took a second of me holding him and putting his pacifier in that he finally fell asleep. After sleeping for an hour and a half straight he woke up super happy! It was so funny because from then on he acted like nothing had happened. Even when we left the hospital he didn't even need anymore pain medicine or anything! What a good boy! I am SO grateful to my Father in Heaven for watching over my cute little boy! Here are some pics I took. It has already partially healed and one of the five stitches has already come out! Isn't he so cute!

You might ask how I got him to close his eyes to look so perfect for this pic. Actually, the bright flash from the past hundred pics his mom had taken just before this one forced the lil' guy to close his eyes for a little rest! ;0)

Luke's Check-up and Recent Milestones

So Luke had his 6 1/2 month check up this past Friday. He's healthy as an ox and learning new things every day. His stats:
17 lbs 10 1/2 oz. = 42nd percentile
28.5 inches long = 97th percentile
He's certainly a big one! In the middle of January I decided it was time to start rice cereal and boy did he LOVE it! A few days later we were on to baby food. He loves to eat and gets SO excited every time he sees me get out something for myself to eat. Its amazing to me how quickly he related his seeing the bowl and spoon for rice cereal and baby food and how he now relates that to food and eating! Babies learn so quickly its amazing!

Another thing Lukas did a few days ago was roll over completely by himself from his back to his tummy and then some! He has never done that before and hasn't done it since this one time. I was so glad I had the camera close by cause he only did it like 4 times in a 5 minute period. And boy did I have to show Matt what his little guy accomplished!

One more thing that Lukas did this past week (whether on purpose or not) was sign daddy all by himself for the first time. We had a couple over for dinner on Friday night and Matt was trying to get Lukas to show off by signing "daddy" in American Sign Language and he did it all by himself (granted his fist was closed instead of open)! It was cool. I'm pretty sure it was a fluke but Matt insists he did it on purpose. haha. What a proud dad!

(this one is just cute cause for no reason he just got SO excited, as you can tell)

Lukas' First Haircut

So my son is blessed with tons of beautiful hair that many a mom is quite jealous of. ;) Unfortunately, it got a little shaggy this past month and so over an inch had to go. Lukas was quite a trooper and very content to chew on his teething ring while daddy held him, mommy cut, and mommy's friend Shayna took pictures and video to remember the momentous event. I wanted to save a little piece of his hair for his scrapbook (I know cheesy) but Matt made fun of me so I didn't. Later on that week I was talking to my sis-in-law and she asked if I did save some. I told her what happened and that I didn't and she said she still has both of her kids and even her own that her mom saved from when she was a baby! How cool is that?! I immediately regretted not saving some for Lukey. Oh well. I'm sure we'll all survive. *Sniff sniff...
By the way. Before the cut Lukas had dark brown hair. After the cut, blond. I'm sure it will just keep getting lighter and lighter like mine did. He's such a cutie!

The Before pic

I love how scared he looks ;)

And...After! He's adorable, huh?!

Birthday Fun

Another thing Matt got me for my birthday was 2 cases of shotgun shells, hand gun shells, and 2 HUGE cases of clay pigeons. Why? you may ask. Well, my dear sweet husband remembered how much I really enjoyed going shotgun shooting a few years back. He knew my birthday was coming up and so he asked his friend who owned a shotgun and hand gun if we could go out with him and his wife if we provided the ammo. Thankfully he said sure and so we had a blast! I LOVE how thoughtful my hubby is! Unfortunately, I kept bragging to Matty beforehand that I am a really good shot and rarely miss the clay pigeons (which I swear I was the last time I went) and so not to feel bad when I beat him. Well, look who got majorly humbled at her own birthday shooting party! Yea, I stunk it up on the shotgun and Matt did amazing well! I guess I did redeem myself when I did really well on the hand gun. Woohoo me! ;) Here are a few pics of us.

Adobe Photoshop

So Matt got me Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for my birthday in December and I FINALLY used it for the first time today. What do you think??? I really have NO clue how to use the program so I went online to a tutorial and this was the first thing I found so I miraculously did it. You likey?
