What to do

Kids/babies screaming on purpose is about the most annoying thing to me.....BOTH my kids are doing it right now while they are suppose to be taking a nap. Lukas was never a screamer. That is, until my little Lydia came along and started screaming. Now Luke joins in all the time. Why it annoys me I don't know. But it does. Bad. You would think its kind of cute that they do it back and forth like they are talking and bonding..... No. Nope. Not working. I hate it. How do I stop Lydia from screaming?????

She may be a little too young for this, but Carter went through the same thing and I would cover my ears and tell him that he was hurting my ears when he screamed. It seemed to do the trick after a little while, not overnight. Before that...I flicked his cheek. It only made him cry and made me feel like a mean mom. But maybe it would work for another baby?

I tried the cheek flick thing once, too. Not for me.
I may have even screamed back a time or two. That got him to stop and look at me like, "wow, that was loud, mom." I don't think they realize that they are being too loud for our ears. Distraction is always a good thing...but I don't know what to do when they are supposed to be napping! Put in some ear plugs and try to ride it out. :o) iPod!!!
